BURNHAM-on-Sea Coastguard has announced it is looking for volunteers to join their team.
The Coastguard posted on social media late last night (May 4) to encourage people to join the team and 'learn new skills'.
A spokesman for Burnham-on-Sea Coastguard , said:"We will teach you how to become a search and rescue operative competent in all these skills and more.
- Search planning and techniques.
- Water Rescue.
- Mud Rescue.
- Cliff Rescue.
- Radio Communication Skills.
- Working with Helicopters.
- Working with other assets such as Hovercraft and Lifeboats, Police and Ambulance.
- First Aid and lots more."
The Burnham team is one of 400 teams around the UK which volunteers their time to respond to emergencies.
To apply, you must be 18 or over, have a current driving licence, be able to work in a close team environment and have a willingness to be available.
The closing date for applications is June 28.
