HEARTFELT tributes have been paid to a popular Burnham-on-Sea man described by his family as ‘the best son, brother and uncle ever’ after he died aged just 35.

James Griffiths died on April 30 at Harefield Hospital in London after he experienced complications as a result of a three-part heart operation.

He has been described by friends and colleagues as a caring, kind man who always approached life with humour.

In a statement, James’ family, said: “James was the best son, brother and uncle ever.

“He couldn’t fight anymore, we miss him.”

James was well known around the town and worked for Weston Hair and Beauty, delivering products to salons in Burnham and Weston-super-Mare.

He suffered from Marfan’s syndrome, a disorder of the body’s connective tissues, which can cause heart defects and lens dislocation.

Friend Stacy Sutton said: “You don’t meet many people in life like James, he showed me great kindness and support.

“He had many friends but he never made you feel one of many.

“Even in the most challenging circumstances he always approached life with humour and wit.

“He will always be in my thoughts and I will miss him forever.”

Scores of friends and colleagues took to social media to pay tribute to Mr Griffiths.

Chrissie Milsom, owner of Salon FX in Weston-super-Mare, wrote: “Sorry to hear this news.

“He always had a smile when he delivered to my salon.

“Even when his smile was hard to give he did always give one.”

Val Bradley wrote: “James will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure to have known him, our thoughts are with you and your family.”

Jenni Knight,wrote: “So shocked to hear this.

“James was a special person and I feel privileged to have had him as a friend.”

Victoria Emmett, wrote: “I am so sorry to hear this.

“James was an amazing person.”

Lauren Day, wrote: “I am beyond sad, James has always been my hero.”

Mr Griffiths’ funeral will take place at 11am on May 12 at Sedgemoor Crematorium.
