A BURNHAM-on-Sea pensioner marked her 100th birthday with a special celebration.
Frances Ranahan, an ex finance officer from Bristol celebrated her century of life on May 6 at a party held at Kathleen Chambers Home in Burnham-on-Sea.
The party, organised by her daughter, Pauline Baker was attended by friends and relatives from across the country and a specially made celebration cake was made for the occasion.
There was live entertainment from a vocalist keyboard player, and Burnham and Highbridge Town band where Mrs Ranaham's son-in-law, Neville Baker played the trombone.
Mrs Ranahan was born on May 6 at Kingsdown Parade in Bristol and she worked in the city for 40 years as a finance officer at Bristol University.
The ex finance officer had an active life and ran with the Bristol Harriers from the age of 17.
Mrs Ranahan has lived at Kathleen Chambers Home for the last eight years after moving from Alandale Court.
She has two children, four grandchildren, eight great grand children and even some great great grandchildren.
