Staff at a residential care home in Falmouth are praising two of their co-workers, who have both received certificates for long service.

Angie Douglas, assistant home manager at Langholme Care Home, and Karen Kneebone, a carer, have both received awards.

Angie has been with the company for the past 15 years, and is described as an invaluable member of staff.

But Karen, who is well loved by residents and visitors alike, has been worked for Langholme for a staggering 30 years.

Alison Tudgey, activities coordinator, said: "The award comes straight from head office.

"Angie is a very valued member of staff and everyone loves her, she's a very caring and compassionate person.

"She's an essential member of staff, we couldn't run without her.

"The residents all love her, she's particularly good with people who are more demanding.

"She's got time for everyone, and the families of the residents love her just as much as the residents."

In regards to Karen, Angie Douglas said: "She's very fair and treats all the residents, whether they have dementia or not, the same.

"She's a very good person to work with."
