THE funeral of popular Somerset businessman, Derek Mead is set to take place tomorrow.

Mr Mead, 70 whose family runs the award winning Puxton Park countryside attraction near Weston died on June 4 when he suffered a heart attack after being crushed by his own tractor which is thought to have been set in motion when a dog entered the cab

Mr Mead's son, Robert Mead posted on Facebook to announce where the funeral will be held and said the family has been 'inundated with kind wishes' since Mr Mead's death.

Mr Mead's Facebook post said: "We encourage everyone who knew or met Dad to attend the service and we have also catered for everyone to be part of the celebration of life.

"To ensure everyone will be part of the service we will broadcast the whole service around the church, covering the whole of the Church grounds.

"Some additional seating has been organised but please be prepared to stand.

"We respectfully suggest that some attendees will have a greater need for a seat and these people should be given priority.

"The family would like to thank everyone for their support over the past few weeks and after the service we invite you to join us for light refreshments and to share your memories of Dad."

The funeral will be taking place at noon at Wick St Lawrence Church on Wick Road and there will be a celebration of Mr Mead's life at Puxton Park from 1pm.
