EASTENDERS star and West End performer John Partridge will be coming to Highbridge to teach a musical theatre singing workshop in aid of Alzheimer's Research UK this September.

The Eastenders actor will be be taking two workshops, one in the morning for youngsters aged 8 to 18 where he will be replicating a song and a scene from the show and one for adults where he will be teaching them one song from the show. 

There will also be a one on one Q&A session with him and photo opportunities.

Mr Partridge is best known as playing Christian Clarke in Eastenders and is a top West End performer who has starred as The Rum Tum Tugger in Cats, as well as in the official DVD, Miss Saigon,Starlight Express, A Chorus Line, Grease, Chicago, Rent and is currently playing Za Za in the UK Tour of La Cage Aux Folles.

In addition to performing, John appeared in Celebrity Big Brother 2016, was a judge in Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'Over The Rainbow' search for Dorothy, a judge on CBBC's dance show 'Taking The Next Step,' a contestant on BBC's celebrity gymnastic show 'Tumble,' presenter of The National Lottery and regularly appears on This Morning, Loose Women and The Wright Stuff.

Siobhan Johnson, organiser of the event said: "John did a workshop two years ago with us that proved so successful and was just so much fun. 

"He brought so much enjoyment to those he taught with his infectious, charming and flamboyant personality. 

"We are so privileged and honored to have him back this year especially as he will come straight off the back of his La Cage UK tour and raising money for his nominated charity, Alzheimers Research UK. 

"He will be bringing a touch of the West End down here to the southwest and what a fabulous opportunity for us to experience right on our doorstep with such an iconic performer."

The workshops are on September 9 at Churchfield School in Highbridge.
