AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after several rings were stolen from a jewellery shop in Burnham-on-Sea.
A number of rings were stolen by a man and a woman from Anthony James Jewellers on High Street at around noon on July 18.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: "A man and woman went into a jewellery shop on High Street at lunchtime on Tuesday (July 18) to look at rings.
"They took two rings off a ring pad and left the shop.
"They returned later in the afternoon.
"While the woman was talking to shop assistant the man tried to take two rings but the assistant grabbed both rings and the suspects left, got in a car and drove away.
"The rings stolen earlier in the day have also been recovered.
"Police enquiries into the incident are continuing."
