A SPECIAL visitor greeted customers at Burnham’s Specsavers store as they hosted a children’s fun day.

Visitors who came to the store on Tuesday, August 15, were welcomed by a life-sized Sooty - a long standing mascot for the Royal National Institute of Blind People who entertained young customers.

The store has also launched a creative colouring competition, which challenges youngsters to colour in a picture of Sooty to be in with the chance to win a prize.

Rama Venkat, store director at Burnham Specsavers, said: “It’s been a great day and we’ve really appreciated everyone that’s come down to the store, joined in the fun and helped us raise money for the RNIB.

“The Sooty suit went down particularly well with our younger customers and we’re also looking forward to picking the winners of the colouring competition. All the entries that have been submitted have been really creative.

“Thank you to everyone who supported us.”

Staff at the store have been hard at work fundraising for the last few months and so far they have raised more than £500 for the RNIB.
