A DERELICT plot of land in Highbridge could be turned into 33 flats if plans are approved.
The site, on Market Street, used to be occupied by Canal House but the building was demolished in 2012 due to health and safety reasons and the site has remained unoccupied to the dismay of residents.
But developer, New Shore Developments, has submitted plans to build 33 flats consisiting of 19 one bedroom and 14 two bedroom apartments as well as 33 underground parking spaces, bicycle access, a rooftop garden and to construct a pedestrian access path through from Market Street.
If approved, the building will be built with red bricks and stone and finished with dark cladding.
Comments are welcome on the application until September 29 after which they will be considered by Sedgemoor District Council.
