THE catering team at a Highbridge school are celebrating after they achieved a five star food hygiene rating.
Inspectors from Sedgemoor District Council visited the school on September 11 and awarded the school a five star rating for the sixth time.
The national scheme, which is run by councils across the country, helps consumers choose where to eat out or shop for food by giving them information about the hygiene standards in restaurants, cafés, takeaways, mobile outlets, hotels and food shops.
Tracey Lowe, catering manager at The King Alfred School, said “We are delighted to have achieved the top rating again.
"It is reassuring for our customers to know that we maintain the very highest of standards.”
Opening at 8am for breakfast, the school canteen provides a wide range of hot and cold food, freshly prepared each day on the premises.
