STAFF at Sedgemoor District Council will be tweeting to raise awareness of gas safety as part of Gas Safety Week.

The council will be supporting Gas Safety Week until September 24 and will be one of hundreds of businesses across the country who will be encouraging residents to have their gas appliances checked annually by a Gas Safe registered engineer.

Members of the council will be tweeting throughout the week with handy tips about gas safety and will be telling residents how to protect themselves against the dangers of unsafe gas appliances, such as fires, leaks, explosions and carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning.
