RESIDENTS are being urged to have their say on plans to build 15 affordable homes in Brent Knoll.

Brent Knoll Parish Council and Sedgemoor District Council are asking residents for their views on the proposed scheme which could see new homes on Station Road.

The councils are hosting a community drop in session on November 15 at Brent Knoll Parish Hall and visitors will be able to gain an insight into the emerging proposals which aim to tackle the shortage of affordable homes in the village.

Duncan Harvey, housing development manager for Sedgemoor District Council, said: “Brent Knoll Parish Council have been trying to bring new affordable housing to the village for a while now.

"We want local people to come along to find out about more about these exciting plans.

"Tackling the shortage of truly affordable housing in Brent Knoll will have long-term community benefits long into the future.

"I would encourage anyone with a connection to the parish, who feels they require suitably priced housing in Brent Knoll to come along to this event”.

At the event, there will be a chance for visitors to offer their views and opinions on the scheme and representatives from EG Carter & Co Ltd, South Western Housing Society, GCP Architects, Brent Knoll Parish Council, Sedgemoor District Councillors and members of Sedgemoor District Council’s Affordable Housing Team will be there to answer questions about the scheme.

The free event will run from 3pm to 7pm at the Jubilee Room at Brent Knoll Parish Hall.
