AN inspirational student has won a triple hat-trick of awards - despite battling a mystery illness.
Max Bradley, a year 9 student at The King Alfred School, has been awarded his first Dan Black Belt by the Tae Kwon-Do Association of Great Britain.
The success came on the back of his excellent class three pass on the Royal Naval Cadet Physical Training Instructor Course and his qualification as an Open Water Scuba Diver.
Max achieved the accolades despite being away from school with a mystery illness for the best part of a school year. He has now fully recovered.
Denise Hurr, headteacher of The King Alfred School, said: “Well done to Max for these excellent achievements - especially as he was also struggling with an illness for such a long period.
“This was a wonderful show of talent and determination.”
