MEMBERS of Highbridge and Burnham-on-Sea Carnival Committee were thrilled this week after a record £13,426.35 was raised after a huge turnout.
The free event on November 6, saw thousands of visitors dip into their pockets to donate money to the carnival and local charities.
Organisers announced the news on their Facebook page yesterday (November 7) and thanked visitors for their 'extremely generous' donations.

This year’s carnival raised £600 more than last year’s total.
Highbridge and Burnham Carnival Committee chairman, Phil New said the committee is already looking forward to next year's carnival.
The committee announced that next year's carnival will be on Monday, November 5 2018.
