Police are hunting the phantom fryers who broke into the Cornish Seal Sanctuary after dark and cooked themselves chips and onion rings.

The break-in at the Gweek tourist attraction and seal rescue hospital took place between 5am and 6am on Sunday, when it is understood thieves broke into an outbuilding and used equipment stored inside for the winter.

It follows another reported break-in over the weekend of November 11 and 12, when ice creams, bread, sandwiches and drinks were stolen.

It is understood that the sanctuary has now brought in round-the-clock security to prevent any further break-ins.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to email 101@dc.police.uk, or phone 101 quoting crime reference CR/100752/17. Information can also be passed to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
