MORE than 100 visitors poured into Brean Leisure Park on Sunday (May 13) for a producers fayre to celebrate Somerset Day.

The holiday park played host to more than 30 Somerset producers who set up their stalls and showcased the best produce the county has to offer.

Representatives from Thatcher’s Cider, Rich’s Cider and Westcroft Cider and Cheese were on hand to give visitors an ice cold pint of Somerset cider.

Volunteers from Burnham-on-Sea RNLI and Burnham Coastguard also spoke to residents about the importance of staying safe at sea this summer.

Volunteers from BARB Search and Rescue collected donations and gave visitors the chance to climb aboard their rescue hovercraft and try on their uniforms.

Characters from Holiday Resort Unity, including Buster the Pig and his friend Sally, made appearances throughout the day and children had the chance to meet pygmy goats and donkeys from Sunshine Farm.

A spokesman for the holiday park said the event was a success.
