A BURNHAM-on-Sea author impressed members of Moose International with a talk at their annual meeting.

Damien Boyd, author of Heads and Tails spoke to more than 60 members of the group on June 29, which is based in Burnham, about his journey to become a best selling author.

Mr Boyd released his first book in 2012 and his books have now sold more than 1.7 million copies worldwide.

Mike Lang from Moose International, said: “Damien gave an enthralling account about the his start as a writer, the reasons why he wrote around Somerset.

“He knows the local geography well having lived in the area as a boy and gave us details of his research strategy.

“He also described some of the plot details in each book.

“Book number nine is apparently on the way, later in the year.”

After the talk Jim Dolan, lodge governor for Moose International, thanked Damien for coming to the meeting and a number of members bought copies of his books.
