WHILE most of us will be backing an England win on Saturday - some have a more profound reason than others...
The National Centre for Domestic Violence (NCDV) is running a chilling advertising campaign highlighting the plight of those facing abuse - and the England team can have an effect.
The charity says domestic violence increases by 26% when the England team plays - by 38% when they lose.
Throughout the tournament, to highlight the issue, the group has issued a series of stark posters giving people the information.
The England poster features the caption: "If England get beaten, so will she."
Other posters mirror the flags of Japan and Switzerland, carrying information regarding domestic violence worldwide, which the charity says sees a spike around football matches.
Anyone affected by domestiv violence can contact the charity by text, sending 'NCDV' to 60777, or by phone on 0800 970 2070.
