RESIDENTS in Burnham and Highbridge will soon hear the sound of the town council's new town guide hitting their doormats.

The new guide, which was produced by Burnham and Highbridge Town Council, provides up-to-date information on shops and services in the towns as well as background on churches, local activities, sports, youth and community groups with contact details as well as items of historical interest.

Residents will also find town council leaflets tucked into the guide including:

  • A 'Contact Us' guide explaining which local government council is responsible for each public service and how to contact them
  • A Plastic Free leaflet showing how local people can help the town council to become a Plastic Free Community
  • A flyer with details of the Neighbourhood Plan referendum on September 20.

Tatiana Cant, town clerk for Burnham and Highbridge Town Council, said: “We hope our parishioners will find all the information they need so that they can enjoy making good use of the facilities in our towns.

"We are very keen to engage closely with our community and hope that residents will keep this booklet somewhere safe to refer to as the next edition will be produced in two years’ time.“
