FORMER students of Heathfield School are being encouraged to don their boots in a rugby match being staged in memory of James Huxtable.

Heathfield PE teacher Andrew Fielding, who is organising the match, said: “James, or just simply “Hux” to all who knew him, passed away in March as a result of a fatal accident in London.

“He epitomised all that is good in life.

“His great qualities, enthusiasm, determination and dedication were to be admired.

“Added to this his sense of humour and you had a highly driven student, who succeeded in all he did. James was a delight to teach and became a good friend. He is sorely missed by all that knew him, on and off the sports field.

“This November, we are going to celebrate his life and other dear friends by arranging a Memorial Rugby Match in their honour. It will take place on Saturday, November 10 with a kick-off time of 2.30pm.

“All past players of Heathfield School are asked to do their boots up and become members of the first ever Former Pupils XV.

“This dream team will be opposing Belsize RFC from London, the team James represented in later life, at a venue to be decided.

“If playing is well beyond you, students past and present, as well as parents, are all invited to become critics on the touchline and enjoy the day.

“This will be followed by a few liquid refreshments at Taunton RFC. Let’s celebrate the life of James and the other special individuals that we have lost and make it a memorable day.

“Please make every effort to attend in some capacity.”
