FLOODGATES at Brean will be shut today (Tuesday, April 9) due to high tides and strong winds.
Access roads at Brean and Berrow will be closed too due to debris.
Travel Somerset said: “Please be aware the flood gates at Brean will remain shut today due to the high spring tides and weather conditions.
“The access roads at Brean and Berrow will also remain closed due the amount of debris on the access roads.”
Flood warnings are in place for some Somerset coastal areas.
The Environment Agency said a warning is currently in place in Minehead and added that the areas most at risk include the coastline between Quay West and The Warren including seafront properties on Culvercliffe Court, Quay West, and Quay Street
