Primary and secondary schools in Devon and south west Somerset can gain free assemblies and biodiversity improvements thanks to a local firm.
Little Green Change, an environmental education company, and The Norman Family Trust fund, are offering state-funded schools the opportunity for enhanced environmental education and eco-friendly schoolground enhancements.
Schools can select from a spectrum of engaging talks tailored for different ages, covering topics like British wildlife, plants for pollinators, trees and hedgerows, and careers in biodiversity.
Additionally, the initiative provides free biodiversity improvements ranging from insect hotels and wildflower seeds to the introduction of water lilies to school ponds.
Previously, Little Green Change delivered an assembly at Axminster Community Primary Academy on British wildlife, which led the school to install bird boxes and plant willow whips, a type of tree, in flood-prone areas.
Numerous successful projects have been executed in other schools and establishments, documented on Little Green Change's Wall of Fame.
Funding for this project is limited and will be awarded on a first come, first served basis.
