LORD Lieutenant of Somerset, Lady Gass, has appointed two new Deputy Lieutenants, Brigadier Tom Lang and David Medlock.
Brigadier Lang lives near Axbridge, and has spent much of his life in Somerset and is a professional Chartered Surveyor.
After seven years in the Royal Marines, he transferred to the Royal Marines Reserve in 1971 and has held many significant posts in the south west and nationally.
Mr Medlock who lives near Bath, has served the community for over 30 years in a variety of positions, including serving as chairman of the Bath Centre for Voluntary Service and is a governor of King Edward’s School, managing trustee of the Medlock Charitable Trust and a founding trustee of the Bath Rugby Community Foundation.
He has been involved with Bath University for 20 years, having been appointed a Pro-Chancellor in 2001.
He was High Sheriff of Somerset from 2007 to March 2008.
