KITTED out head-to-toe in leathers and motorcycle helmets you may be forgiven for thinking a gang of Easy Riders had arrived in Brent Knoll at the weekend.
Instead it was a group of volunteers from a medical charity who wheeled into Sanders GardenWorld to host a series of fundraising car boot sales.
The Freewheelers Emergency Voluntary Service organisation transports medical supplies to hospitals across Somerset.
Volunteer Allan Roberts, who arranged the sales, said: “We had such a good response from customers when we hosted car boot sales last year that we decided to organise them again this year.”
The bargains will be on offer every Friday from now on, depending on the weather, until November and all the money will go into the motorcycle-based charity's coffers.
Allan added: “We are all advanced motorcyclists who give a free out of hours' service to the NHS from 7pm until 7am all weekend and bank holidays. Last year we saved the NHS around £90,000.
“We need to raise £20,000 a year to run and maintain four bikes as we don't receive any funding, and this year our aim is to raise enough money to buy on board phone systems or preferably radios for the bikes, which will aid security for our riders.”
