IT was a case of déjà vu for Highbridge on Saturday.

A week after dropping two points at home to Cannington Colts, the Division One champions were again frustrated on their own turf, this time by basement side Dulverton Town.

Highbridge fell behind in the first half when a Dulverton player struck a shot against the bar and a team-mate tucked away the rebound.

Striker Wayne Hand was denied an equaliser by the crossbar, but with half-time approaching, veteran Kev Watts got Highbridge level, following a free-kick.

Pete Thompson was forced off with an injury early in the second period, and his replacement, young Ross Marsh, performed well.

Highbridge continued to push forward for the winner, but were unable to take their chances.

After two disappointing home draws, Highbridge will be hoping for better luck next Saturday, when they are away at Locomotives.

Highbridge Town’s Somerset Junior Cup match at home to Pilton United has been rescheduled for February 12.

Highbridge Town Reserves put in a brave display at Wembdon Saints in Division Three on Saturday.

Highbridge had chances to score but were hit by two sucker punches by the division leaders, who have dropped just two points all season.

The Reserves host Old Inn All Stars on Saturday.
