THE results for the Highbridge and Burnham Marine ward on Sedgemoor District Council have just been announced.
After an incredibly tight contest, the three councillors elected were: Joe Leach (LibDem, 782 votes), Mike Mansfield (no party, 705) and Chris Williams (independent, 543).
The other candidates, who missed out, were: Helen Groves (LibDem, 528), Janet Keen (Conservative, 516), Alan Miller (LibDem, 511), Robert King (Conservative, 473), John Woodman (LibDem, 471), Linda Davis (Labour, 451), Ricky Hopkins (Labour, 379), Andy Merryfield (Labour, 351).
