DEVON and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service is spreading the fire safety message to sailors during national Boat Safety Week, which begins today.
Firefighters will be working with yachting and boat clubs, marina staff and other boating organisations, to promote safety tips, including: making sure you have a fire action plan, a fitted smoke alarm with kitemark approval, a gas and petrol vapour detector alarm, and that all appliances are switched off before you leave the boat.
