THIS year’s Newt Festival in North Newton looks set to be bigger and better with a new stage bringing more music to the venue.

The 21st ‘Newt Fest’, located between Taunton and Bridgwater, will kick off this Friday, July 13, from 2pm until 1am and continue on Saturday, July 14, from 12 until 1am.

This year will see 24 bands play over two stages - with headline act and Rolling Stones tribute band The Rolling Clones playing on Friday night, followed by U2 tribute US4/U2 on Saturday evening. For a full band list visit www.newtfest.com.

There will be over 100 real ales from breweries across the country, along with Somerset cider, wine, bottled lagers and a selection of other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Plus, this year there will also be a cider marquee, with a Yard of Ale Contest on Saturday at 3pm.

A wide variety of food will be available throughout the festival, including breakfasts for those who decide to camp.

Camping costs £10 per person on the Friday for both nights or £7 on the Saturday night.

Children’s entertainment will be provided on Saturday from 12pm to 5pm. Children up to and including the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

No animals are permitted on the camp or festival sites, and no alcohol or food can be brought into the festival.

Tickets cost £16 per night or £27 for the weekend, available from the website or on the gate. There are offers available for early booking via the website.
