TOP tips on how to win a business-boosting award are being offered at an event on August 1.

Organisers of the News-backed Somerset Business Awards 2012 are inviting would-be entrants to a breakfast seminar to get advice on how to write an impressive entry.

Hosted by the Somerset Chamber of Commerce and accountancy firm Albert Goodman - the awards' main sponsor - delegates will receive hints and tips for improving their applications from judges and sponsors.

Chris Ryder - a director at ADPR, which is sponsoring the marketing and promotion award - will show how entrants can make the most of the awards through their marketing.

Chris said: “The breakfast workshop will provide businesses with vital inside information about what we, as judges, look for when assessing a business for the awards.

“The Somerset Business Awards are becoming increasingly competitive and standards are rising year on year, making it an even more prestigious accolade to win. The breakfast seminar will help businesses showcase the great things within their company and place them in the best position to submit a winning application.”

The seminar is at the Canalside in Bridgwater (TA6 6LQ) at 7.45am - to book a place, click on the link at www.somersetbusinessawards.org.uk/enter

A chamber spokesman added: “The Somerset Business Awards offers the perfect platform to put your company in the limelight and now help is at hand.”

The awards are open to Somerset companies of all types and sizes. Businesses can nominate themselves and are welcome to enter more than one category - for entry details and to apply online, visit www.somersetbusinessawards.org.uk before the deadline of August 31.
