A BURNHAM filmmaker has released a short supernatural thriller shot in and around Brent Knoll.
Photographer James Cameron, who shares his name with the director of Avatar and Titanic, filmed ‘The Copse’ as a six-month project and has just released it on DVD.
The film, described as a ghost story, mystery and suspense thriller, revolves around a magazine editor who discovers his reporter dead in the woods.
James, 27, from Adam Street, told the Weekly News: “I love storytelling and I researched a lot of local history for this project. I’ve decided to use the research on a new project, The Masquerade: The Brenton Hill Incident, which I hope to shoot in Brent Knoll in January 2013.
“The Copse received a lot of interest, especially as it’s filmed locally. Some of it was filmed in Priory Gardens and some was shot in Ralph Wood. The cast are nearly all local actors, mostly students with a real talent for acting. I like to showcase local talent.”
James has made previous ‘summer shorts’, including a particularly successful comedic piece, ‘Living with Oblivion’, in 2010.
The new DVD was launched at the Stars of Time convention in Weston and can be purchased for £4.99 from his website and production company, www.avalonvisions.co.uk James and his team are always looking for further talented actors who can contact him via the website.
