AN AMERICAN clothing company has unveiled a new concept that will share its name with a well-known figure from Burnham's sporting community - the chairman of Burnham's rugby club.
Abercrombie and Fitch is working on Concept Five, expected to be introduced to its flagship stores in January 2008, a range which is expected to include underwear aimed at teens and young-adult customers.
But the new line is rumoured to share its name with a rugby veteran from our side of the Atlantic - Burnham stalwart Gilly Hicks.
Still playing rugby in the front row, 57-year-old Gilly spoke to the Weekly News about how he felt sharing his name with a raunchy new clothing division.
He said: "I don't mind it at all, it's quite funny really. I don't really know what to say until everything comes out."
Born Colin Hicks, Gilly was given his nickname when he was young as a reference to "being able to drink like a fish".
He first heard about the rumours after receiving a phone call from an American journalist who found his name on the Weekly News website.
