AMBULANCE crews have taken a woman to hospital following a traffic accident in Bridgwater yesterday evening (Thursday, November 27). 

The collision involving two cars occured on Wembdon Road at around 4.50pm.

Fire crews from Bridgwater and the rescue tender from Taunton attended the scene, after recieving a call from paramedics requesting assistance.

The fire service stabalised the vehicles before extracting a female from one of the cars.

Fire crews had to remove the roof of the vehicle using hydraulic cutting equipment and assisted paramedics in placing the casualty on a rigid stretcher who was then taken to hospital.
