A CONCERT in memory of a popular Burnham girl who died earlier this year has raised more than £1,200 for charity.

DJ Seb Doolan, originally from Burnham, organised the concert as a tribute to Georgia Lavender who died in September, aged 23.

The gig featured musical acts from across the UK and aimed to raise funds for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance service.

Seb, who attended King Alfred School with Georgia said: “The event was a massive success.

“The venue was basically at full capacity and it was a fantastic night of drum and bass music and reggae – a great vibe all night and everyone had a great time.

“I’d just like to say a huge thank you to Treatz Pizza who sponsored the event, and also to Jacks Cafe who let us use their venue for free.”

Through his just giving page and the concert Seb has raised a total of £1274.90 which will be donated to the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

The charity was chosen by Georgia’s parents after air ambulance staff tried to save their daughter’s life as she was airlifted to Musgrove Hospital on August 30 – five days before she died.

Seb added: “I’d like to say massive thank you to everybody who attended the event and donated and helped us raise so much.”
