THE next step in Burnham and Highbridge’s neighbourhood plan is set to get underway with a meeting tonight to consider planning policy in the town.

The meeting has been arranged after concerns and questions over planning featured highly in the results of a recent survey completed by residents.

A spokesperson for the steering group said the neighbourhood plan needs to work within the existing planning policy, meaning it is vital that the group has a full understanding of the current and planned housing policy for Burnham and Highbridge.

Nick Tait, Sedgemoor District Council’s planning policy manager, told the Weekly News: “I will have the benefit of a report that looks at the economic based housing projections as well as the updated strategic housing land availability assessment so will extract the headlines and relevant information from these.”

Anyone is welcome to attend the meeting which will be held from 7pm in the Burnham and Highbridge Community Centre in Berrow Road.
