BURNHAM residents who are leading the development of the Neighbourhood Plan met in the town centre on Saturday to put their ideas for the area to the test.
The group, consisting of town and district councillors, representatives of Burnham Chamber of Trade and the local History Society, as well as the town centre manager, walked through the town centre visiting areas that have so far been marked out on the plan.
The group reviewed the draft policies and recommendations while visiting each location for a first-hand view.
Phil Harvey, chairman of the group, said: “It was useful to see the situation on the ground and consider how the ideas in the draft would apply and to check that they were appropriate.
“The range of skills and expertise in the group meant that we could look at the draft from a number of different viewpoints.
“As a result a couple of minor amendments were suggested to take back to the next topic group meeting."
Members of the group now believe that the plan will be published after finalising the document at their next meeting.
The Neighbourhood Plan meeting will be held at Burnham Community Centre from 7pm next Thursday (March 19).
