THE 48-year-old man killed in a single car collision in Bridgwater last Tuesday has been named as Ron Nutt, of Highbridge.
He was driving north on the A38 Bristol Road when his Citroen Xantia left the road and hit a tree just before the Dunball roundabout at about 2pm.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and a fiveyear- old boy who was in the car was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton as a precaution, but was unhurt.
It is believed MR Nutt, a lorry driver, suffered a heart attack and lost control of his vehicle.
The A38 northbound was closed after the Express Park roundabout for an air ambulance to land, and the afternoon traffic was badly affected, leading to tailbacks and long delays.
Police are investigating the collision.
