RESIDENTS in Sedgemoor who are looking to make the most of their garden this summer are being encouraged to sign up to a garden waste collection service.
The Sedgemoor District Council initiative costs £48 per year with those signing up to the scheme receiving 25 collections a year.
It is hoped that the scheme will encourage residents not only to take pride in their gardens but also to recycle their garden waste.
Customers signing up to the scheme have the option of receiving either a green wheelie bin for their garden waste or garden waste sacks at a cost of £25 for ten bags.
Sedgemoor District Council will also be sending letters out to more than 10,000 current customers inviting them to renew their subscriptions, which start this month.
Residents who may be considering signing up for the garden waste collection service can call in at Bridgwater House or telephone 0845 408 2543 to register their interest.
