A CHEQUE for a massive £4,550 has been presented to the Stroke Association following a Wassailing event held in Burnham in January.

The event at Rich’s Cider Farm in Watchfield was organised by the Rotary Club of Burnham and Rich’s Cider, supported by The Skimmity Hitchers and Bob Darch Music.

This annual Wassailing has grown over recent years and is well attended by locals keen to ward off evil spirits, ensuring a good apple crop for the following harvest.

Burnham Rotary Club say they would like to thank Rich’s Cider, Ken and Sue Jones, and Bob Darch for their continued support.

The Stroke Association will be hoping for a further financial boost when George Scott from Rich’s Cider will run the London marathon in aid of the group this month.
