BURNHAM youngsters will be hunting dragons around the town centre tomorrow as part of the first town council St George's Day celebrations.
The activities kick off with the flag of St George been flown on the flagpole at the end of the High Street before the dragon hunt commences.
There are 20 baby dragons hidden in shop windows throughout the town centre - each with a clue. Pre-schoolers from local nurserys will be hunting for the dragons and once all the clues have been found children can then head over to the Princess Theatre to collect their certificates and join a St George themed party.
On the trail Mike the Knight will be on hand to help the young participants and the two winners from the colouring competition, Brooke Dyer and Hollie Dennehy, who attend Rose Cottage Nursery will be wearing their dragon costumes.
The entertainment at the Princess Theatre is provided by Action Pussy Cat.
There will be storytelling, dragon making, lots of dragon toys, floor art and craft activities.
Town Centre Manager, Bev Milner Simonds said: "The Town Council has lined up a great day of celebration in the town centre involving lots of our businesses.
“This year we have aimed the activities at pre-schoolers due to how the date has fallen, but depending on feedback we can build on this for 2016 when St George's Day is on a Saturday.
“Parents and carers can join-in the dragon hunt by picking up a trail form from any of the participating businesses and collect their certificates from Saxons Estate Agency."
Anyone can join in the dragon hunt but those wishing to attend the Princess Theatre party should contact Bev on bostowncentremanager@gmail.com
