FIRE crews from Burnham were called to a caravan park in Brean following reports of an explosion this morning.

Firefighters arrived at Northam Farm Caravan and Camping Park at around 10am to find a gas cylinder had exploded causing injuries to a ladies leg.

The woman was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment.

No other damage was caused by the explosion as the cooker had been located outside at the time and it was believed the gas canister had been incorrectly fitted into the cooker which is what caused the incident.
