THE first ever female president of Burnham Rotary Club is ending her year of office.
Jane Gibbs handed over her presidency to long-serving club member Ashley Edwards, who has previously taken the roles of vice-president and president elect.
He has also been an active club member for ten years and is a well known community figure.
At the handover ceremony, Kenyan youth choir The Singing Choir of Africa performed a selection of native songs, with Jane stating that she had had a wonderful year.
In her retirement speech, she spoke of the successful events the club had been a part of that fundraised for both local and national charities.
Ashley told the club he was is looking forward to enjoyable year.
