THE sun was shining in all its glory for Burnham Infants School’s annual summer fayre.

The yearly event took place on Tuesday 30 June in the school grounds, and was well attended by staff, pupils and teachers.

The fayre started at 2:30pm and finished at 4pm, with children keen to enjoy the sunshine.

The stalls included various sales such as food and home-made cakes, with refreshing drinks on offer, as well as light-hearted games and competitions.

The ice cream van was widely enjoyed by everyone, even the staff and there are already plans for next year’s fayre to be just as successful.

A total of £1,150 was raised to go towards the school.

“All the children really enjoyed the day,” said Julia Arthur, admin assistant at Burnham Infants School.

“We had lots of different events and the teachers all ran their own stalls.

“There was an ice cream van, a fire engine, hook a duck, a raffle, various games and a tombola.

“We were very lucky with the weather as it was hot and sunny so ideal for an outside fayre.”

The school hold a summer fayre and Christmas fayre every year to raise funds for new equipment plus other aspects.
