IT was a charity night with a twist. Dancers from Pole Essence put on a spectacular display to raise money for St Margaret's Hospice.

The showcase took place on November 14 at the Beachcomber in Brean.

This year's routines were based around the theme Viva Las Vegas, with a raffle and pole awards as well.

More than £2,100 was raised.

Organiser and owner of Pole Essence, Sam Smith, said: "I am overwhelmed by the success of the event, I cant thank all those involved enough, every one played their part, performers, helpers, and the host.

"I would like to thank the Beachcomber for their support, and mostly I would like to thank the family and friends of the Pole Essence students as they played a huge part in making the night the success it was.

"St.Margaret’s Hospice are completely amazed with the money raised and have asked us to say a massive thank you on their behalf.

"We also announce our change of name from Pole Essence to Studio Essence, which will be happening from the new year when we relaunch, and the opening of our new purpose built studio in Highbridge where we are based from now on.

"We will be offering new classes such as ariel hoop and stretch classes."
