Highbridge is showing signs of change with new shops, new homes and new people moving in. Brue Farm is another chance to see the town expand but there is a concern: flooding. Over the Christmas period the floods in the North have reminded us of the folly of building in flood risk zones. Before any new development in Highbridge we must be certain the authorities have made sure all forms of flood prevention are in place so as to avoid future disasters. We don’t want another scenario as we had in 2014 when Moorland and other villages were swamped leading to Somerset becoming a no go zone for visitors.
