The local community are invited tothe Burnham and Highbridge Choral Society's concert, titled A Mass For Peace.

Tickets are still available from Material Needs, with the show being performed SaturdayApril 23 at 7.30pm at St. Andrew's Church, Burnham-on-Sea.

The 60 strong choir will be led by their M.D Nicholas Bromilow.

The group will be performing the popular The Armed man: A Mass for Peace by Karl Jenkins, along with a selection of songs from Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dream Coat, and a collection of madrigals.

The society will be accompanied by a small vibrant orchestral ensemble and soloist Katy Garden, who was born in Saskatchewan, Canada and discovered her love of music at an early age.

After graduating from high school, she moved to Vancouver where she went on to receive her Bachelor of Music in vocal performance, and Artist Diploma in opera performance from the Vancouver Academy of Music.

In 2010, Katy moved to London to study at the Royal College of Music, where she graduated with her Masters of Music in vocal performance in 2012.

Katy has sung under the baton of renowned conductors such as Vladmir Jurowski, Edward Gardiner and Laurence Cummings.

She has also performed with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, the RCM Orchestra, Regina Symphony Orchestra and the Vancouver Recital Society and sung in professional choirs such as KorVest in Norway, Eric Whitacre Singers, and the BBC Singers.

Tickets cost £7.50 and are available from Material Needs, Burnham on Sea, choir members or at the door on the evening.
