YMCA Somerset Coast are joining forces with The British Lawn Mower Racing Association to create the Mendip Mower Racing and Family Festival 2016.

The event, which will take place from August 27 to 29 in Cross, Sedgemoor, is now in its fifth year.

The people of Burnham are invited to a weekend of fun, live music, food and entertainment.

Event organisers are currently on the look out for local bands, entertainers, stall holders and local businesses who would like to be a part of the weekend.

Martin Hodgson YMCA Somerset Coast chief executive, said: "Mendip Mower Racing is crucial for us in order to spread awareness of the work of YMCA Somerset Coast, to get people involved with what we do and to raise vital funds to enable us to continue our valuable work.

"It is probably the most fun way to get a taste of who we are while raising money and awareness for the communities that we serve."

Children under 12 go free or tickets cost £5 for a day or £10 for three days and are available on the gate.

Any funds raised for this event will go to YMCA Somerset Coast to help eradicate youth homelessness.

If you are a band, entertainer, stall holder or local business and would like to be a part of this event or volunteer during the weekend, contact 01278 726002 or email events@ymca-sc.org.
