THE Towans Residential Care Home celebrated the Queens official birthday last week with a range of events across the weekend.

On Saturday, there was a summer fete, with the Mayor in attendance, and the event raised over £500 for Cancer Research,Weston Hospice Care, and The Rotary.

Residents and friends had an afternoon of entertainment with lots of stalls, and there was also  performances from Lisa Jane school of dance, singers from Burnham on Song, and Rob Busby.

There was Splat the Rat, Hoopla, and a tombola, as well as cream teas and cakes.

On Sunday, the Care Home hosted a garden party, where residents were entertained by a medley of songs from musicals, whilst enjoying a glass of Pimms.

The National Anthem and Happy Birthday were sung along with lots of classic British songs, and a good time was had by all who attended.   

The next big event coming up at The Towans, will be a summer evening for family and friends in July, followed by a Barbeque in August.
