RECEPTION pupils had fun in the sun last Friday at Burnham Infant School’s Summer Fayre

The event is held so that the current reception class can welcome the next year’s reception children, with all the money made going towards new equipment for the next class.

There was a scare earlier on in the day with wet weather, but the sun put his hat on for the brilliant event.

Lynn McGeown, Foundation Stage coordinator, said: “It was raining all morning, and we were a bit worried, but it turned out to be a brilliant sunny day, and then it rained again at 4pm when we had finished.

“We had hook a duck and throw the bean bag in the hoop.

“The reception children made their own play dough, and brought their old toys in to sell to the new class.

“There was also name the teddy and guess the sweets in the jar.

“We also had face painting, which was very popular, and there was a long line of kids waiting even after we had finished.

“This year’s reception children helped to get the activities together and they helped with the stalls.

“So each year the current reception class puts the event on for next year’s reception.

“Year two and three joined us, and the playground was full with almost 400 people.”
