FIREFIGHTERS rescued a cow stuck in a water-filled rhyne in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday, June 21).
A specialist rescue team and a fire engine was called by the RSPCA to the incident at Jacks Drove, Heath House, Wedmore, at 1.15am.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Upon arrival crews confirmed one cow located in a water-filled ditch.
"Crews secured the scene and awaited the specialist rescue team to get in attendance.
"At 2.13am, crews confirmed one cow was rescued using lines and strops."
