Hillview Juvenile Carnival Club celebrated their carnival success last week as they secured two second place awards

The club went bigger than ever at Burnham-on-Sea carnival this year with their entry entitled Reach 4 the Stars.

The popular S Club 7 song was the soundtrack of the night as carnival goers were in awe of the 100ft long float passing by with around 5,000 lights illuminating the procession.

The club has been running for 42 years and has over 40 members, had a real challenge with building their huge float.

Tina Marshall, Secretary for the club said that the club was thrilled with the result.

"We got two second place awards this year and we are extremely proud of our achievements.

"We felt that our performance went off without a hitch, which was a relief due to the size of our cart.

"Unlike previous years we took on the challenge of building a 100ft float which is much bigger than anything we have done before.

"We also built a shelter for the float and a lot of hard work was put into it.

"Personally, I am so proud of all of the members of the club as it really took a lot of teamwork for us to build the cart."
